Forty-Nine percent were sheltered in temporary housing or Safe Haven Programs, and 51 percent were unsheltered or on the streets or places not intended for human habitation. According to this report, the number of veterans experiencing homelessness identified by the Point-in-time Count increased by 15 percent in 2019 and another 4 percent in 2020. In the South Mountain Village and Central Phoenix areas where Tanner Community Development Corporation (TCDC) constituents reside, the Point-in-Time count currently is over 1200.
