HELP ENRICH AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES COALITION (HEAAL)

The Help Enrich African American Lives (HEAAL) Coalition has been instrumental in reducing substance misuse of alcohol, marijuana, and opioids by African American youths in Maricopa county AZ. We have established an awareness of the harm caused by substance misuse, utilizing evidenced based prevention strategies.  The HEAAL members use the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Strategic Prevention Framework, Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) 7 Strategies for Community Change and The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) prevention strategies to implement training opportunities for teens and their caregivers/families. The TCDC staff works diligently with community volunteers and collaborative partners to coordinate facilitated instruction and training for the community-at-large.

Coalition Meetings are held on the 4th
